Todd O'Brien (ex ESG) is a second import added to the roster of Al Ansar

Al Ansar Medina (SBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old American (has also Armenian passport) 211cm center Todd O'Brien, college: UAB for season 2021-22. O'Brien is the second import player in the roster as Libyan Mohameed Elsadi signed here earlier.
He played most recently at Etoile Sportive La Goulette in Tunisian ProA. He also played for ES Sahel (ProA).
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America) in twelve different countries. O'Brien has played previously professionally in France (Nantes), Israel (Hapoel Upper Galilee Safed), Japan, Latvia (Ventspils and Jekabpils), Lebanon (Sagesse), Poland (MKS DG), Qatar (Al Gharafa and Al Arabi), Russia, Egypt (Al Ahly, Al Ettehad and Sporting), United Arab Emirates (Al Naser), Libya (Ahly Tripoli) and Armenia (Urartu).
Among many awards he played in the final of UAE League in 2018. He was voted to Afrobasket.com All-FIBA Africa Basketball League Honorable Mention in 2019.
O'Brien attended University of Alabama at Birmingham until 2012 and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball.
